Why blue? A look into my own visual identity.

A look into my own visual identity.

Some brands are recognised by their logo, some by a mascot, some by a colour.

When I created my personal brand, I didn’t want to choose a colour simply because I liked it or it looked good.

I wanted to create an identity that could become recognisable.

Every decision creates an association. My branding isn’t just my logo. It isn’t my typography. It isn’t even my name. For my own identity, that element is blue.

There’s also an artistic reference behind my choice.

Yves Klein famously developed a deep ultramarine blue that became strongly associated with his work and artistic identity. What is fascinating isn’t just the colour itself, but the idea that one visual element can become so strongly connected to a creator that it starts to represent something beyond the colour.

It’s the blue.

The idea is simple I want this specific blue to become associated with my identity over time. So that, eventually, people might see it without my name attached and still think of me. That’s what I want to build with my own blue.

To use blue intentionally and consistently across my work, website, social media, stationary, print, and the physical world. The same applies to typography, imagery, etc.

In this case consistency doesn’t mean using the same thing everywhere. It means creating enough coherence that people can start building an association.

Strategy first. Design with intention. Recognition through consistency.

For me, that means finding ways for the blue to exist without forcing it into places where it doesn’t belong.

I want it to be seen, recognised and associated. 💙
